Job summary

Seattle Children’s is seeking a Lab Assistant III to support the laboratory with processing specimens, phlebotomy, and age-appropriate patient procedures. You will use laboratory information systems to fulfill orders and relay results to patient care teams.

The role includes participating in process improvement and performing sterilization and glass washing duties to maintain the department’s operations. This is a full-time on-site position at Seattle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience and at least one of the following.
• At least two years of experience in laboratory specimen processing and/or phlebotomy.
• Laboratory-related college courses including an associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Assistant or related biology/chemistry coursework.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient procedures and perform specimen processing.
• Use clinical information systems to fulfill laboratory orders and deliver test results to care teams.
• Participate in process improvement to enhance patient care and specimen flow; provide sterilization and glass washing for the department.
