Responsibilities

• Properly prepares and identifies samples for laboratory testing
• Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
• Documents maintenance performance of instruments/equipment
• Performs and records quality control for testing in the area
• Controls inventory ordering and supplies to maintain adequate stock
• Accurately reports patient results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• Retrieves and transports specimens to appropriate locations
• Performs clerical duties needed for the department (EHR access, filing reports/slides/specimens, answering phones)
