Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Lab Assistant II in Irving, TX, working Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with rotational weekends. The role offers a starting pay range of $17.20+ per hour and participation in annual bonus programs where applicable.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year of lab experience, familiarity with Windows software, and strong typing skills. Qualified applicants will support pre-analytical processes and ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a laboratory environment or a production setting.
• Medical background required which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Must have familiarity with personal computers and basic Windows-based software

Responsibilities

• All responsibilities of the Pre-Analytical Assistant I and II; meets or exceeds productivity and quality standards for Pre-Analytical Assistant I.
• Solves more complex problems on a routine basis.
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of how Specimen Processing and Tech Ops impact testing departments and result quality.
• Identifies problems with specimen types vs test orders, missing information, improperly positioned bar code labels, etc. with regard to load building, aliquoting, and test add processing.
• Understands the complex relationship between test(s) ordered and specimens received with load building to correct departments.
• Completes all required written documentation such that it is understandable to others, legible and within the assigned time frame.
