Tenet Healthcare in Tucson, AZ is seeking a dedicated laboratory assistant to perform routine phlebotomy, specimen registration and clerical tasks, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with lab protocols. You will receive and distribute specimens, perform CLIA waived tests as required, and support microbiology processing.

Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential in a high-volume clinical setting.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of laboratory experience or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Phlebotomy certification where state law requires.

Position Summary

• Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing.
• Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned.
• Will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.
• Will assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Licensure/Certifications: Phlebotomy Certification where State law requires.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.
