Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Florida is seeking a Per Diem Phlebotomist to perform routine venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution, and tube labeling under supervision. You will support laboratory workflows and handle specimens with care.

Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent; ability to complete blood draws independently within 6 weeks; computer literacy and excellent customer service. Phlebotomy program completion is preferred, and prior laboratory experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy Program is preferred.
• Ability to complete blood draws independently within 6 weeks of hire.
• Laboratory experience is preferred (6 months).
• Computer knowledge and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens.
• Receive and distribute specimens and label tubes/containers.
• Perform simple tests under supervision as needed.
• Fulfill HICS responsibilities during emergencies.
• Perform phlebotomist duties as assigned.

Per Diem, Days

Performs routine technical and clerical functions. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; may perform CLIA waived laboratory tests. Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency disaster.

Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens, labels tubes and specimen containers, collects specimens and performs simple tests under supervision.

Performs phlebotomist duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Preferred: Completion of Phlebotomy Program

EXPERIENCE:

• Required: Ability to complete blood draws independently within 6 weeks of hire.
• Preferred: 6 months of laboratory experience.
