Job summary

Tenet Healthcare’s Mission Trail Baptist Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine laboratory tasks, including specimen collection, labeling, and distribution. The role supports CLIA waived tests and related microbiology processing as needed.

The candidate will work under standard procedures, with opportunities to contribute to patient care in a collaborative hospital setting and to participate in ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy program is preferred.
• One year of clinical laboratory experience or formal phlebotomy training is required.
• Phlebotomy Certification is required where state law requires.
• National phlebotomy certification through ASCP/ANP/APST or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine technical and clerical functions including specimen registration and billing.
• Performs venipuncture/capillary puncture; labels tubes and specimen containers.
• Receives and distributes laboratory specimens.
• Assists in microbiology processing and plating specimens as requested.

Job Summary

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Completion of a Phlebotomy program

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: One year of clinical laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires
