Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Arizona is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture, specimen receipt, labeling and distribution, and to carry out CLIA waived tests as requested. You will support microbiology processing and other routine lab tasks in a patient-focused environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of laboratory experience or completion of a phlebotomy program, and state-required phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

Position Summary

Performs routine technical and clerical functions. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.

Performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing. Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens. Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned. Will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested. Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in the laboratory or medical-related field from an accredited institution
• Experience: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience.
• Certification/Registration: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
