Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - East Campus in El Paso, TX is hiring a Laboratory Assistant II to perform routine technical and clerical duties, phlebotomy, specimen receipt, and CLIA-waived testing in a fast-paced clinical lab.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned.
• Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.

The Laboratory Assistant II performs routine technical and clerical functions. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.

Certifications

• Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
