Job summary

St. Luke’s Hospital in Dayton, OH is seeking a diligent Phlebotomy Technician to join our care team. You will perform blood collection, process specimens, assist with patient registration, and maintain laboratory workflows with accuracy and compassion.

You will use the Laboratory Information System, ensure safety and patient identification standards, and contribute to a supportive environment aligned with our mission and values. Day-one benefits apply to this full-time role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous phlebotomy experience is required.
• National Phlebotomy Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and process patient specimens.
• Handle patient registration and use the laboratory computer system.
• Prepare specimens for reference laboratories.
• Maintain department inventory and operate equipment.
• Perform clerical duties and ensure patient identification and safety policies.
• Promote teamwork within the healthcare team and align with hospital values.

Position Summary:

Performs phlebotomy, processes patient specimens and performs patient registration. Utilizes Laboratory computer system. Prepares specimens to be sent to reference laboratories. Maintains department inventory and operates and maintains equipment. Performs various clerical duties. Adheres to patient identification, laboratory safety, and department policies and procedures. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: P revious phlebotomy experience required.

License: National Phlebotomy Certification
