Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program; coursework in biology or related science preferred.
  • May require valid Indiana driver's license and clean driving history.
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic software.
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Potential involvement in committees or projects within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general laboratory services including specimen collection and order entry.
  • Prepare blood components and handle pre-analytic processing of specimens.
  • Assist with patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens.
  • Perform related clerical tasks as needed.
