Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support Translational Oncology Research Labs. You will manage supplies, receive shipments, coordinate sample shipments, and handle mail across UCLA locations while assisting with equipment maintenance and safety procedures.

This limited appointment role may convert to career, with an hourly range provided to support efficient operations and compliant lab processes.

Qualifications

• Ability to place and receive orders with accuracy.
• Ability to maintain proper use of laboratory equipment.
• Skill in using computer and Excel software to update inventory control.
• Ability to communicate well and work as a team.
• Organizational skills to stock laboratory and office supplies to perform inventory.
• Knowledge of the ordering system for calling in orders to vendors and reconciling shipments.

Responsibilities

The Department of Medicine is looking to hire a Laboratory Assistant to support the UCLA Translational Oncology Research Labs. In this role, you will help maintain laboratory and office operations by managing supplies and inventory, receiving and distributing shipments, coordinating research sample shipments, handling mail and deliveries across UCLA locations, assisting with laboratory equipment and routine maintenance, supporting laboratory safety procedures, maintaining records and databases, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient and compliant research operations.

Hourly range: $27.04-$32.31
