Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant for our Brentwood, TN facility. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing them for testing, and performing data entry and basic equipment checks.

The position supports a fast-paced production environment with emphasis on accuracy and safety. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 3+ months in specimen processing or laboratory settings preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience preferred.
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
