Job summary

Labcorp in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Lab Assistant to join a high-volume production-based clinical lab team. Responsibilities include receiving and preparing specimens, data entry, equipment checks, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role supports timely turnaround in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma and ideally 1+ year of medical/lab experience or related production exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of medical/lab or production experience.
• Currently enrolled in an MLT or MLS program.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens and accurate specimen identification.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies and maintain a clean work area.
• Complete record logs and additional administrative duties.
• Follow all SOPs to ensure safety and quality.

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team at Ascension Columbia St Mary’s Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI. Work Schedule: As needed on weekdays or weekends. No set schedule.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years or more of medical/lab or production experience

Additional Job Standards

• Currently enrolled in an MLT or MLS program
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
