Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Quality Lab Technician in Lubbock, TX for a contract role. The position involves hands-on seed quality testing and germination analysis in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will perform visual inspections, basic lab tests, data collection, and sample preparation while maintaining accuracy and safety. This onsite role offers competitive hourly pay and a schedule aligned with production needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in quality inspection, lab work, or agriculture preferred.
• Seed testing or farm work experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, or QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual quality inspections on seed samples.

• Complete germination testing (warm & cool).
• Analyze seed purity and perform accurate seed counts.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Degree in Agriculture, Plant Science, Natural Science, Chemistry, Biology or Science related field is a plus**
• Experience in quality inspection, lab work, or agriculture preferred
• Experience with seed testing, farm work, or manufacturing QC
• Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, or QC processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Must provide Passport or Birth Certificate for onboarding

Schedule & Environment

• Standard: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Peak season (Nov–Jan): Day & night shifts available, up to 50 hrs/week
• Feb–May: Weekend availability may be required
• Fast-paced lab and production environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lubbock, TX.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
