We are seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. This role operates in a high-volume, production-based environment, performing a vital component of clinical lab science.

Work Schedule:

1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Job Responsibilities:

1. Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
2. Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
3. Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
4. Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance.
5. Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
6. Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
8. Complete record logs and other administrative duties.
9. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Job Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred.
3. Comfortable handling biological specimens.
4. Ability to accurately identify specimens.
5. Basic computer and data entry skills.
6. High attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet turnaround times.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
10. Must pass a color blindness test.
11. Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
