Responsibilities

• Sort, receive, and process incoming specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens, print labels, maintain storage and retrieval.
• Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting and slide prep.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and QA/QC activities.
• Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
• Prepare reagents and media for testing procedures.
• Record department data, including temperature logs.
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials.
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests and assist with gas cylinders.
• Use laboratory computer systems to support daily operations.
• Follow PPE, safety regulations, and training protocols.

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire

Schedule: Day/Evening Shift (EST), Monday - Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM, with potential Saturday and/or Sunday hours

What You'll Do

• Sort, receive, and process incoming specimens
• Centrifuge specimens, print labels, and maintain specimen storage and retrieval processes
• Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting, slide preparation, inoculation, and worklist creation
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and quality assurance/quality control activities as assigned
• Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples as needed
• Prepare reagents and media for laboratory testing procedures
• Record and maintain department data, including temperature logs and department files
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials according to safety guidelines
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests and assist with changing gas cylinders
• Utilize laboratory computer systems and PCs to support daily operations
• Follow all PPE requirements, safety regulations, and training protocols
