Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John’s Hospital Camarillo in Camarillo, CA, seeks a Lab Assistant to support scientific professionals by preparing samples and maintaining equipment. You will perform routine automated testing in various clinical lab areas under licensed supervision.

• Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS).

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Lab Assistant you will support scientific professionals by preparing samples, and maintaining specliaized equipment.

Every day you will perform routine maintenance and repair on instruments utilized as directed.

To be successful in this role, you will perform rountine automated testing in multiple areas of the clinical laboratory in a timely manner under direct supervision of licensed personnel.

Job Requirements

• Quality control for testing performed will be reviewed by licensed personnel.
• Clinical lab functions are clerical in nature, including, but not limited to such acts as patient registration, telephone communication, filing, sorting, distribution, typing, data entry and frequent use of laboratory computer system(s) to process specimens.
• Verifies eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, PCP approval, and billing requirements as appropriate.
• Work out of various patient service centers.
• Use of personal vehicles may be required.
