Job summary

University of Washington Medical Center is hiring an Animal Technician 1 to support animal care, husbandry, sanitation, and facility operations in a research setting. The role requires adherence to SOPs, health checks, cagewashing, and accurate record-keeping, with duties spanning daily animal care and logistics across the facility.

The position is full-time with a 7:00am–3:30pm shift schedule, Friday through Tuesday, and requires the ability to work in a biohazard environment and lift up to 50

Qualifications

• Must have English reading, writing and oral communication.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Animal care and husbandry including daily health checks and feeding.
• Cagewashing, sanitation, and facility maintenance.
• Inventory monitoring and supply handling.
• Documenting records and logs; follow SOPs.
• Assist with animal transport within the facility.
• Communicate animal care issues to research personnel.
