Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of hands-on experience in a professional analytical laboratory required.
  • Prior experience with ICP, ammonia, and N/N preferred.
  • Ability to work first shift schedule Monday - Friday from 2:30 PM - 10 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Receive training on a variety of Inorganic methods.
  • Ensure the quality of the data being reported.
  • Analyze and enter data in the LIMS system for reporting.

We are currently looking to immediately fill a Laboratory Analyst (Inorganics) position. The selected candidate will be trained by our highly knowledgeable laboratory staff to perform important laboratory analyses that provide high quality, defensible data for our clients. A critical aspect of this role is to generate analytical data to help our clients ensure they are in compliance with governmental regulations related to environmental protection.

A critical aspect of this role is to generate analytical data to help our clients ensure they are in compliance with governmental regulations related to environmental protection.

Our Laboratory Analysts are provided the opportunity to continuously learn, improve their skills and advance in their career with us. They work on state-of-the-art laboratory instrumentation and perform analyses using a variety of analytical techniques and methods.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Receive training on a variety of Inorganic methods and demonstrate the ability to perform these analyses in a strict timeframe;
  • Ensure the quality of the data being reported meets the requirements of the method;
  • Analyze and enter data in the LIMS system for reporting to the client;
  • Develop an understanding of the Quality system and support laboratory investigations and document updates/revisions;
  • Gain basic knowledge of state and federal regulatory programs;
  • Gain introductory experience with preventative maintenance for state-of-the-art instruments and equipment;
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and understanding of laboratory systems and testing protocols, instrumentation and technology;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology or related area; or Associate’s Degree; or equivalent experience;
  • 0-1 years of hands-on experience in a professional analytical laboratory required;
  • Prior experience with automation, titration, ICP, ammonia, N/N, TKN, and/or IC strongly preferred;
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) as well as other Windows software;
  • Must be able to work first shift schedule Monday - Friday from 2:30 PM - 10 PM with the ability to work alternating Saturdays or Sundays and holiday rotation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds periodically during each work shift;
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Engage in the following movements: Balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking, grasping, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion;
  • The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines;
  • The incumbent is potentially subject to conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: odors, gases, poor ventilation.
