Job summary

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation seeking a Lab Analyst III to join a bioanalytical team in Lenexa, KS. The role focuses on analytical QC testing using chromatography (HPLC) and other techniques, ensuring accurate data and adherence to procedures in a regulated environment.

You will perform routine HPLC analyses, participate in method development/validation, support material testing, and contribute to QC across production materials and lab operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or related field is required.
  • 5+ years in a similar lab environment with HPLC experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and analyses per established procedures.
  • Routinely execute HPLC methods for clinical studies.
  • Perform USP and EP test methods and method development support.
  • Participate in validation, qualification of compendial methods.
  • Assist formulation testing with various excipients and vehicles.
  • Inspect, release and manage materials to manufacturing facilities.
  • Sample Raw Materials in ISO environments and ship to labs.
  • Maintain equipment, calibrations and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Support QC by reviewing test results and procedures.

Lab Analyst III-QC Analytical, Clinical Research (CRO) - Full-Time w/ benefits, Monday - Friday first shift schedule, Lenexa, Kansas (KS)

We're currently seeking a Lab Analyst III to join a team of bioanalytical professionals supporting groundbreaking clinical research.

As a Lab Analyst III you will be responsible for conducting analytical QC testing utilizing chromatography techniques like HPLC, as well as other techniques not limited to FTIR, Dissolution, Karl Fisher, Conductivity, Osmometer, liquid sampler, Disintegration, Visible Inspection, and Appearance. This role is essential in maintaining accurate data, adhering to standard procedures, and contributing to the overall success of the laboratory operations.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Performing laboratory tests and analyses in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Routinely executing laboratory HPLC methods related to clinical studies.
  • Perform USP and EP test methods.
  • Participating in method development and validation, and qualification of compendial methods.
  • Assist in developing pharmaceutical formulations by testing various excipients, vehicles, etc.
  • Responsible for inspection, release and destruction of production materials, components, and chemicals to manufacturing facility; including intermediates.
  • Responsible for sampling Raw Materials in an ISO Classified environment; including preparation and shipment of samples to the required laboratories.
  • Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, performing regular calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Supporting quality control activities by participating in the review and verification of test results and procedures.
Your Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar laboratory environment performing HPLC techniques. Clinical research of pharma environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to follow protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Basic proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment operation, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities, with a proactive approach to supporting team objectives and deadlines.
