Job summary

Altasciences is seeking an Accessioner to enter requisition data accurately and manage special handling instructions. You will prepare work areas for frozen samples, retrieve necessary supplies, and sign for specimen integrity from couriers.

Nightly duties include delivering specimens and inventorying envelope contents, while upholding safety and cleanliness standards. Role requires an associates degree or higher in health science and current IATA certification; clinical lab experience is

Qualifications

• Must have strong basic typing and data entry skills.
• Knowledge of health science terminology preferred.
• Familiarity with requisition data entry and accuracy standards.

Responsibilities

• Enter all pertinent information from requisitions into the computer accurately.
• Enter 'special handling' or frozen requisitions when needed.
• Prepare work areas for frozen samples; retrieve dry ice, ice chests, racks, stickers.
• Sign for the integrity of frozen specimens received from couriers.
• Deliver specimens to the appropriate departments at night end.
• Take complete inventory of envelope contents and verify requisitions.
• Wear PPE and follow safety guidelines; keep work area neat and clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; assist with training.
