Job summary

Responsibilities

• Develop recommendations for intervention, assistive devices, and appropriate educational supports.
• Utilize best practices in assistive technology based on individual student needs.
• Review students' programs and goals annually and prepare written summaries and revised goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to develop classroom strategies and activities that support student needs.
• Maintain parent communication and provide recommendations for supporting student development at home.
• Maintain daily attendance logs, data, progress notes, and service documentation.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings and other assigned meetings.
• Document services and related time for Medicaid reimbursement.
• Collaborate with outside professionals when appropriate.

A LaGrange Elementary School is seeking a dedicated full-time Occupational Therapist to join its student support team for the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the opportunity to support students across 1st-6th grade while collaborating closely with teachers, families, and other professionals to help students access and succeed in their educational environment.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM-3:45 PM
• 35 hours per week

Position Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist will:

Student Population

Forest Road serves students in 1st-6th grade and includes three specialized classrooms for students with high support needs related to social communication disabilities, including Autism.

This position provides an opportunity to work with a diverse student population and support students across a range of sensory, motor, developmental, and functional needs.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License through IDFPR required.
• Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to develop individualized, evidence-based interventions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
