Job summary

AnthroMed Education is seeking a dedicated full-time Occupational Therapist to join the LaGrange Elementary School student support team for the 2026–2027 year. You will provide OT services to students in 1st–6th grade, collaborating with teachers and families to help students access their education in person.

This role requires an active IL OT license and involves assessment, intervention planning, and data-driven documentation in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

  • Develop recommendations for intervention, assistive devices, and educational supports.
  • Utilize assistive technology based on student needs.
  • Review programs and goals annually and prepare written summaries.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop classroom strategies.
  • Maintain parent communication and home support recommendations.
  • Maintain attendance logs, data, and service documentation.
  • Participate in Student Support Team meetings and other meetings.
  • Document services and Medicaid-related time.
  • Collaborate with outside professionals when appropriate.

About the Opportunity

A LaGrange Elementary School is seeking a dedicated full-time Occupational Therapist to join its student support team for the 2026–2027 school year. This role offers the opportunity to support students across 1st–6th grade while collaborating closely with teachers, families, and other professionals to help students access and succeed in their educational environment.

Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM–3:45 PM
  • 35 hours per week

Position Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist will:

  • Provide occupational therapy services for students with IEP and 504 plans.
  • Screen and assess fine motor, visual-perceptual, sensory processing, and functional skills.
  • Evaluate areas including perceptual-motor skills, hand function, motor coordination, sensory development, and muscle strength.
  • Develop recommendations for intervention, assistive devices, and appropriate educational supports.
  • Utilize best practices in assistive technology based on individual student needs.
  • Review students' programs and goals annually and prepare written summaries and revised goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to develop classroom strategies and activities that support student needs.
  • Maintain parent communication and provide recommendations for supporting student development at home.
  • Maintain daily attendance logs, data, progress notes, and service documentation.
  • Participate in Student Support Team meetings and other assigned meetings.
  • Document services and related time for Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with outside professionals when appropriate.

Student Population

Forest Road serves students in 1st–6th grade and includes three specialized classrooms for students with high support needs related to social communication disabilities, including Autism.

This position provides an opportunity to work with a diverse student population and support students across a range of sensory, motor, developmental, and functional needs.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Occupational Therapist License through IDFPR required.
  • Experience in a school-based setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop individualized, evidence-based interventions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
