Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville seeks a Pharmacy Intern to assist in dispensing medications to ambulatory patients under direct supervision of a pharmacist. You will review orders, exercise professional judgment, and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced hospital/pharmacy setting.

Eligible candidates are enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program or recent graduates not yet licensed in Florida, with strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency. Florida intern license required.

Overview

Responsible for the dispensing of medications to patients of Shands Hospital and the University of Florida Clinics, and for exercising professional judgment in evaluating all medication orders written for ambulatory patients under direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school or college of pharmacy or be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy program who is not yet licensed as a pharmacist in Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Must provide a valid telephone number for departmental communication and emergency contact.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Must hold an active Florida Pharmacy Intern license issued by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
