Job summary

UF Health Shands Hospital outpatient pharmacy seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support ambulatory patient care, performing technical and clerical duties with focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications include Pharmacy Technician Level 1, Florida Board of Pharmacy registration or intern status, and CPhT certification within 90 days of employment. Prior hospital or retail experience is a plus.

Overview

Responsible for performing the technical and clerical duties not requiring professional judgment in the Outpatient Pharmacy areas. These duties are associated with providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services to ambulatory patients of UF Health Shands Hospital.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Must meet all requirements of a Pharmacy Technician Level 1, including required competencies. In addition, one of the following requirements must be met:12 months of Shands Pharmacy Technician experience6 months of Shands Pharmacy Technician experience and one of the following:Two years hospital/institutional pharmacy or retail pharmacy experienceDemonstrate the ability to work independentlyDemonstrate the ability to contribute to effective working relationshipsExperience managing projects preferredExperience with Microsoft Office Suite preferredMotor Vehicle Operator Designation::Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.Licensure/Certification/Registration:1. All Pharmacy Technicians must be registered with the Florida Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or licensed Pharmacist Intern prior to their first day of employment.2. Must present proof of current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status upon employment or obtain national pharmacy technician certification within the first 90 days.
