$0.75 - $0.90 per minute.
The Kyrgyz Telephone Interpreter handles on-demand calls, rendering the meaning of conversations between Kyrgyz and English speakers across industries (Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911). The interpreter processes information quickly, concisely, and recognizes sensitive cultural differences. The role does not involve written translation; it is purely verbal interpretation.
Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions.
Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions at all times and remain calm during emergency or emotionally charged situations.
Follow client instructions and protocols, ensuring client expectations are met and avoiding interaction with the LEP without client permission.
Understand protocol and terminology for various industries including medical, insurance, finance, and law.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
Provide required service standard within a dynamic environment, potentially handling high call volume and extended call periods.
Fluency in Kyrgyz and English with cultural competency and assessment of regional accents.
Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain high accuracy.
Ability to concentrate, remain detached, neutral, and objective during sensitive subjects.
Education or experience in language-related fields (teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation) is preferred.
Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements meeting client demands.
Minimum 18 years of age, legally authorized to work in the United States, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read and write the requested languages – highly preferred.
Dedicated personal device for business; Desktop/Laptop with Windows, macOS, or ChromeOS. Tablets (iPadOS or Android) and smartphones (iOS or Android) are acceptable.
High-speed Internet: minimum 5Mbps download, 3Mbps upload, ping ≤ 300ms, jitter ≤ 30ms.
Quiet space free from background noise or distraction.
Operate keyboard and mouse; remain in front of a computer most of the workday.
Operate company software and systems; manual dexterity for typing or writing.
