Job summary

Kier & Wright Civil Engineers and Surveyors in Sacramento, CA seeks an Engineering Technician (Renewables) to produce engineering design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D, from concepts to final plans, collaborating with the design team to draft sketches, plans, and exhibits. On-site/off-site development drawings experience is preferred; BlueBeam is a plus. The role involves field checks and multi-discipline coordination.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a position requiring intensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Experience drafting on-site and off-site improvement drawings for land development projects.
• General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, etc.
• Experience with BlueBeam a plus.

KWRE ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (RENEWABLES) - Sacramento, CA

What we're looking for?

The Engineering Technician will be in charge of independently producing engineering design plans for public works project and land development, utilizing AutoCAD software. They will be responsible for working with an engineering design team from initial concepts to final plan production. They will also draft various sketches, plans, and exhibits using CAD.

• Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team.
• Drafting grading, drainage, utility, street frontage improvements, and stormwater management plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D grading feature lines and utility pipe networks.
• Preparing drawings per company and public agency CAD standards and project-dependent CAD specifications.

Education + Experience

• 0-2 years of experience in a position requiring intensive AutoCAD/Civil 3D

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 8 hours a day for office staff)
• Interacting with technology (computer, cellphone, etc.)
• Ability to lift and/or carry items ( up to 20 lbs.)
• Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
• Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.
