Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and sustain Kubernetes-based PaaS across on‑prem and cloud. You’ll own production services, respond to incidents, and automate operations for Space program analytics and AI workloads.

Required are a STEM degree and 8+ years in large distributed systems, plus 2+ years Kubernetes experience and TS/SCI clearance eligibility; citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 8+ years delivering large-scale distributed software systems.
• 5+ years supporting highly available enterprise environments.
• 2+ years managing Kubernetes environments (on‑prem and cloud).
• Security clearance capability: TS/SCI and polygraph; U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate Kubernetes-based PaaS hosting on‑prem and cloud (AWS/Azure).
• Handle deployment, upgrades, patches, backups, and capacity planning.
• Patch Kubernetes layers to maintain high uptime and reliability.
• Own production AWS and Kubernetes services end-to-end.
• Automate operations using code and scripting.
