Job summary

Ignite Digital is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to support a U.S. government customer in the Norfolk, VA area.

You will develop and maintain mission software, deploy containerized services with Kubernetes, and apply Agile/DevSecOps practices in a fast-paced, security-focused environment. The role requires DoD cybersecurity alignment, active SECRET clearance, and a strong foundation in modern software development.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional software, network, or utility programming experience.
• Experience maintaining databases within an application environment.
• Experience applying modern development methodologies (Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps).
• Active SECRET clearance required at time of application.
• DoD 8570 / 8140 certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain mission software applications.
• Implement and support containerized solutions using Kubernetes.
• Apply Agile and DevSecOps best practices to improve delivery speed and security.
• Troubleshoot software, networking, deployment, and container orchestration issues.
• Collaborate with government and contractor teams to design scalable services.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and secure development workflows.
• Ensure all work aligns with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
