Job summary

PNC is seeking an accomplished Software Engineering Group Manager to lead the strategy, architecture, and operational excellence of Kubernetes-based container platforms. The role focuses on defining roadmaps, ensuring secure, scalable container environments, and enabling self-service capabilities for engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has extensive Kubernetes experience, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering enterprise-grade container platforms across on-premises and cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred
• 10+ years in technology with extensive experience leading Container Platform Engineering teams, preferred
• 10+ years of expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and platform engineering
• Experience in Agile software development environments, preferably with developer platform products.

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap for container platforms (Kubernetes) and container-as-a-service (CaaS) to support enterprise workloads.
• Design, deploy, and manage highly available, secure, and scalable containerized infrastructure.
• Oversee product development process, collaborating with engineering to convert market requirements into technical specifications for container runtime, security, and orchestration.
• Promote developer usability through self-service options, APIs, and clear documentation; drive adoption across engineering teams.
• Represent customers, study industry trends, and inform product development and adoption.
• Oversee product metrics to enhance performance, usability, and reliability of containerized workloads.
