Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our DevOps/SRE team. You will design, deploy, and maintain automation for Kubernetes clusters, enabling reliable, secure application delivery.

Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployments, implement GitOps, and drive improvements in cloud-native tooling. This role includes on-call rotation and a hybrid work model in Austin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years experience as a developer (Go, Java, Python, etc.).
• 2+ years experience with Kubernetes (GKE, EKS, RKE, etc).
• Proficiency in Kubernetes deployment, configuration, and management in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Hands-on experience with GitOps practices and tools.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of container technologies such as Docker, ContainerD, Helm.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend tooling to auto-generate manifests and reduce copy/paste errors.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters for high availability, performance, and security.
• Set up monitoring and alerts with Datadog and troubleshoot Kubernetes incidents.
• Implement security best practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain documentation of Kubernetes configurations and best practices.
• Collaborate with application teams for smooth deployments and management of apps.
• Stay current with cloud-native tech and drive process improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations to minimize production downtime.”
