Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) seeks a Senior Developer to join the Kubernetes Platform Engineering team.

You will onboard applications to our on-prem Kubernetes Platform, collaborate across teams to improve solutions, and advocate best practices for containerization, scalability, and resiliency. You will support CI/CD workflows, provide troubleshooting for containerized apps, and develop onboarding materials and trainings to empower developers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with on-prem container platform technologies (not cloud-hosted Kubernetes).
• Expertise with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu/VKS, Docker or Podman.
• Experience with Kubernetes observability tools for metrics, monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing.
• CI/CD processes and tools (GitHub Actions) and strong DevOps principles.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or Node.js and shell scripting for automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot containerized apps in Kubernetes environments.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
• Familiarity with security best practices for containers including RBAC.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with OpenShift Operators, CNCF projects, and Helm charts.

Responsibilities

• Onboard applications to the on-prem Kubernetes Platform in a standardized, streamlined manner.
• Partner with Development, Kubernetes Platform Engineering, Operations, and other teams to improve solutions and drive platform adoption.
• Advocate for container platform best practices for scalability, resiliency, and optimization.
• Collaborate with Release Engineering to promote GitOps practices and streamlined CI/CD workflows.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for containerized applications, platform configurations and Kubernetes deployments.
• Create and share documentation, best practices, and onboarding materials; conduct trainings and workshops.
• Gather feedback from development teams to drive continuous improvement of onboarding and tooling.
