Job summary

Groq, Inc. is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to build and operate production software within the GroqMetal platform, delivering Kubernetes as a commercial product for large-scale AI workloads.

You will own components end-to-end, improve reliability, and collaborate with infra, inference, networking, and security teams. Based in the Dallas, San Francisco, or New York City area with remote work flexibility as we establish our offices, this role offers exposure to hyperscalers, GPUs, and

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, testing, shipping, and maintaining production software.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: controllers, CRDs, cluster lifecycle, node management, or platform services.
• Production infrastructure experience across application, networking, compute, and infra layers.
• Solid distributed-systems fundamentals including retries, idempotency, and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Build production Kubernetes platform capabilities, APIs, controllers, and automation.
• Own platform components end to end from design through testing and deployment.
• Operate and improve reliability, observability, performance, and efficiency.
• Develop a commercial Kubernetes platform for AI training and inference workloads.
• Address reliability, scalability, and usability issues with durable solutions.
• Collaborate with infra, inference, networking, infosec, and related teams.
