The Kraff Eye Institute is one of the leading laser vision correction centers in Chicago and the surrounding area. With decades of experience and a commitment to utilizing the latest ophthalmological advances, Kraff Eye Institute has set the gold standard in eye care.

Committed to advancing new technologies in ophthalmology, Dr. Colman Kraff helped pioneer laser vision correction. In February 1991, as part of a five-site U.S. FDA clinical trial team, Dr. Kraff performed the first excimer laser procedures in Chicagoland using the VISX Excimer Laser.

Since then, Dr. Kraff and the Kraff Eye Institute have specialized in laser vision correction. The institute has been the lead U.S. investigative site for VISX LASIK FDA clinical trials, performing the first hyperopic LASIK and Wavefront-guided treatments in the country.

GENERAL FUNCTION

This role supports the practice by coordinating daily administration of doctors, visitors, and patients. It ensures an excellent patient experience by linking the doctor and practice functions seamlessly, supporting the practice's reputation as the premier vision care destination.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet patients promptly and courteously.
  • Answer calls in a friendly manner.
  • Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.
  • Notify providers of patient arrivals and manage schedule updates.
  • Make reminder calls for appointments and pickups.
  • Handle financial records, collect charges, and process third-party claims.
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Protect patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
  • Verify insurance eligibility.
  • Maintain office systems and ensure a safe environment.
  • Follow policies and procedures, report changes.
  • Support team efforts and perform related tasks.
  • Work weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Adhere to attendance and dress code policies.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of healthcare office experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with in-store technology, patient records, and software
  • Knowledge of vision services, insurance, and office operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Pay Range: $17.45 - $23.16

Compensation depends on various factors including location, experience, and skills. Benefits may include health care, retirement, paid time off, and discounts.
