Job summary

Cascade Christian Schools – McAlder Elementary in Puyallup, WA, is seeking a part-time KPrep 3's and 4's Teacher Assistant to join our Christ-centered team. You will assist the Lead Teacher with lesson plans, classroom management, and activities that meet group and individual needs, while fostering a nurturing, Christian classroom.

Starting immediately, work Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Agree with Cascade Christian Schools' Statement of Faith and Teaching Statements.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Attend job-related activities during non-work hours (compensated).
• Prefer a minimum of one-year certification or two years of experience in Early Childhood Education.
• Willingness to meet CPR/Current First Aid and other regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to obtain CDA coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in implementing monthly lesson plans and classroom management.
• Create a nurturing, Christian environment in the classroom.
• Facilitate activities that meet group and individual needs of students.
• Promote educational progression of students to the next level.
• Be an advocate for Cascade Christian Schools with families and the community.
• Substitute for Lead Teacher when absent.
