Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Kotlin Backend Engineer to join the Mobile Service Layer. This contract role based in Atlanta combines Kotlin/Java backend work with Spring Boot, GraphQL, and microservices in a hybrid work setting.

You'll design and evolve REST and GraphQL APIs, support high-volume mobile apps, and contribute to BFF architectures while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building production backends with Kotlin.
• Backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Experience with microservices and CI/CD.
• Cloud deployment experience (AWS) and scalable services.
• Ability to work in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Exposure to Backend for Frontend (BFF) architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production backend services in Kotlin and Java
• Develop scalable REST and GraphQL APIs
• Build and evolve the Mobile Service Layer / Backend for Frontend (BFF)
• Support high-volume, low-latency services used by mobile applications
• Modernize legacy services and introduce Kotlin into newer services
• Write clean, maintainable, tested code
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability and performance
• Collaborate with mobile engineers, architects, QA, DevOps, and product teams
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and CI/CD practices
