Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong Kotlin expertise to build and scale the Backend for Frontend service layer powering mobile applications used by millions of users worldwide. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite in Atlanta, GA or Phoenix, AZ.

You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and drive best practices in testing and continuous integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend experience in Java/Kotlin
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Kotlin for backend development is required
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs with performance considerations

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and maintain the server-side API layer powering mobile apps
• Write clean, well-tested Kotlin/Java code with focus on performance
• Optimize and refactor existing systems and drive performance improvements
• Integrate with internal services, third-party APIs, and data sources in a distributed architecture
• Collaborate with mobile engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to deliver end-to-end experiences
