Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking Korean on-site contract interpreters in the Seattle, WA area to facilitate accurate, meaningful communication. This opportunity is for independent contractors who can perform consecutive interpretation and may provide remote interpretation when needed.

Applicants should be proficient in English and Korean, able to travel to assignments, and capable of meeting client confidentiality and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proficiency in English and Korean.
• Ability to provide consecutive interpretation between English and Korean.
• Successful completion of language/proficiency evaluations.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during application.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Health/immunization requirements may apply per client/location.
• Background/security/fingerprinting/drug screening may be required.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethics.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical, legal, community, educational, or social services interpreting.
• Relevant interpreter training or credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and Korean during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Adhere to confidentiality, privacy, and data-protection requirements (HIPAA/FERPA/GLBA).
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject-matter terminology for assignments.
