Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide program coordination, development, and logistical planning for visiting scholars and delegations from Korea and Global Leadership and Development Program, including any educational programs, marketing, or recruitment needs. Manage and monitor the program effectiveness and quality, including monitoring the program budget and tracking expenditures. Serve as program liaison and assist visiting scholars/students with all aspects of their transition to the U.S.

Provide services in interpretation and Korean translation of documents, lectures, and meetings to assist visiting scholars or while traveling nationally and internationally. Accompany visiting delegation members when needed to carry out visits or training programs in order to facilitate communication and program quality.

Promote the SPIA’s Korea Program (GLAD Program) in Georgia and in Korea. This involves networking and sharing of marketing materials with Korean and Georgia partners.

Schedule business meetings and cultural events for Korean delegations and visitors. Coordinate logistics of visits and English and cultural programs for visiting scholars as needed. For example, establish schedule and contact local government officials and state agencies about meeting times and objectives.

Position Summary:

This position is the secondary coordinator for SPIA’s Korea Program (GLAD Program). The position is responsible for coordinating the program and providing services for current/future partners and visiting scholars for the program. The position serves as the program coordinator, supporting Program Director, by monitoring program effectiveness and budget, developing program itineraries and schedules for visiting scholars, providing services for smooth settlement and research/training experience during their stay at UGA. This position should have excellent written and verbal skills in Korean and English and be knowledgeable of US and Korean governments and cultures. Applicants should be capable of driving a 12-passenger UGA vehicle. This position will travel nationally and internationally as needed.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

Master’s Degree or 3 years of experience in a Coordinator or Manager Position in the field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :

Fluent in English and Korean and be knowledgeable of US and Korean cultures. Capable of driving a 12-passenger vehicle. Travel nationally and internationally as needed

Capable of carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs. Driving as needed for job duties.
