Job summary

Kohler invites you to join its Lifestyle Studio as an Interior Design Co-op. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to develop trend-forward concepts reflecting consumer patterns and evolving spaces and product relationships, contributing to early research and visual storytelling.

As a co-op, you’ll engage in cross-disciplinary reviews, refine 2D/3D concepts, and help shape design direction under mentorship from leading designers. This onsite program runs May through December 2027 at Kohler, WI.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited university program in industrial design or related field.
• Strong eye for spatial experience, form, detail, color, and finish.
• Proficiency in visual communication and 3D modeling; experience with Rhino/3ds Max/SolidWorks/KeyShot preferred.
• Graphic design, engineering, product design, interior design, architecture experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on trend research, mood boards, and 2D/3D concept development for lifestyle, interiors, product, and CMF-driven projects.
• Support presentation development by creating visual assets and refining digital boards, coordinating samples, and telling clear, compelling stories.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, research activities, and design reviews with fresh thinking and strong aesthetic awareness.

As a Lifestyle Design CoOp, you’ll help develop trend-forward, insight-drivenconcepts that reflect emerging consumer patterns and the evolving relationshipbetween interior spaces and product design and contribute to early research,visual storytelling, and concept exploration that could inform design directionat a global scale.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on trend research, data interpretation, mood boards, and 2D and 3D concept development for lifestyle, interiors, product, and CMF-driven projects.
• Support presentation development by creating visual assets, refining digital boards, coordinating samples, and helping bring ideas to life through clear, compelling storytelling.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, research activities, and design reviews, contributing fresh thinking, strong aesthetic awareness, and thoughtful perspective to early-stage design exploration.

Skills/Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university-level program in Industrial Design or a related discipline, such as environmental design, furniture design, UX/UI design, architecture, or a closely related creative field.
• A flexible and dependable creative thinker with a strong eye for spatial experience, form, detail, materiality, color, and finish.
• Demonstrates proficiency in visual communication, digital modeling, and spatial rendering, with experience in Rhino, 3ds Max, SolidWorks, KeyShot, or similar design tools preferred.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in graphic design, engineering, product design, interior design, architecture, or a related creative discipline is a plus and will help support success in this co-op experience.
