Job summary

Latham & Watkins LLP is seeking a Knowledge Management Lawyer (US AI / Copyright Litigation) to join the Knowledge Management team. The role involves creating and organizing substantive knowledge assets for the AI and Copyright Litigation Practice, while monitoring developments in law and technology and promoting the use of AI tools across the team.

The position offers a hybrid in-office presence in New York, Washington, D.C., or San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Substantive knowledge of or demonstrated interest in copyright law and/or AI-related litigation.
• Ability to work independently and deliver on a timely basis.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify, organize, and maintain work product for the Practice, including anonymization for AI/copyright guidance.
• Monitor AI and copyright developments, regulations, and regulatory actions.
• Draft and update client-facing materials and internal best-practice resources.
• Develop substantive training for attorneys on KM resources and AI tools.

About the Role

The Knowledge Management Lawyer (US AI / Copyright Litigation) is an integral part of Latham’s Knowledge Management team. This role will be responsible for managing the creation, organization, and delivery of substantive knowledge assets for Latham’s AI and Copyright Litigation Practice (the Practice), while, in coordination with the Practice Chairs, and with assistance from attorneys in the Practice, monitoring current legal, regulatory, and market practice developments for the Practice, as well as championing the adoption of AI tools and innovative technology across all aspects of the team’s work. This role will be located in either our New York, Washington, D.C., or San Francisco office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

• Identifying, collecting, and organizing work product for the Practice, including anonymizing work product for copyright- and AI-related guidance
• Monitoring, tracking, organizing, and assimilating activity across AI and copyright cases, regulations, and regulatory actions
• Drafting and maintaining frequently used client-facing materials
• Drafting and maintaining internal best-of and best-practice resources
• Developing substantive training materials and providing substantive training to attorneys, as well as more general training on KM resources
• Responding to queries regarding and supporting AI and copyright lawyers in connection with client and industry engagement
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Possess substantive knowledge of or a demonstrated interest in copyright law and/or AI-related litigation
• Exhibit the ability to work independently and deliver on a timely basis
• Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm

And have:

• A JD or equivalent
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant law firm experience as a qualified practicing attorney in a leading international law firm

Pay Range

USD $270,000.00 - USD $290,000.00 /Yr.
