Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Knowledge Engineer embedded with a USAFRICOM Directorate to advance digital modernization, AI adoption, and decision support via standardized ontologies and automated workflows.

The role emphasizes Microsoft 365 configuration, data governance, and agile delivery of MVP increments while collaborating with senior stakeholders in a DoD/IC setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required for DEOS contract.
• 10+ years in knowledge management, process engineering, or related fields.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in DoD/IC environments.
• Hands-on Microsoft 365 configuration: SharePoint, Power Automate, Teams governance.
• Experience in US military HQ or Joint Staff; knowledge of battle rhythm and docs.
• Proven change leadership with senior stakeholders (O-6/SES).
• Ontology, metadata standards, and workflow digitization expertise.
• U.S. Citizenship; SOFA eligibility and country clearances.
• DOW TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Process Intelligence & Workflow Optimization: map and digitize workflows; identify bottlenecks.
• Ontology Development & Data Standardization: design ontologies (OWL, RDF, SKOS) and ensure metadata conformance.
• Education, Training & System Adoption: train knowledge managers on metadata, platforms (MS 365, Databricks, Palantir).
• Contractor Oversight & Agile Work Package Management: review work packages and MVP delivery.
