Job summary

Strategic Factory is seeking an experienced, reliable KM-1 Press Operator to join our production team in Owings Mills, MD. You will set up, operate, monitor, and maintain the KM-1 press to meet quality and production standards.

The ideal candidate has prior commercial printing experience and is adept with RIP systems, press software, and digital job files. Shift is Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial printing.
• Experience operating Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 is strongly preferred.
• Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift and handle printing materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent quality.
• Able to read and follow job tickets, written specifications, and production instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 press.
• Review job tickets, artwork specifications, quantities, materials, and finishing requirements.
• Prepare files and production settings for accurate printing.
• Load paper and verify stock, size, grain direction, and quantity.
• Monitor color consistency, registration, image quality, and print accuracy.
• Perform press checks and identify defects before completing production runs.
• Make adjustments to color, alignment, feeding, and press settings as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment, software, file, and print-quality issues.
• Complete routine operator maintenance and keep the press and workspace clean.
• Accurately record production quantities, waste, downtime, and job completion information.
• Communicate equipment concerns, delays, and material needs to management.
• Coordinate with prepress, bindery, and production teams to keep projects moving.
• Follow all company safety, quality-control, and production procedures.
• Meet daily deadlines while minimizing waste and maintaining high-quality standards.
