Job summary

Permobil is hiring a Kitting Associate in Lebanon, TN for a full-time, first shift role. The position requires picking, assembling, and preparing kits for production, with emphasis on accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.

Candidates should be able to operate hand and power tools and warehouse equipment such as cherry pickers, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Education includes a high school diploma or GED, with preferred experience in warehouse or manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous warehouse, kitting, assembly, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Experience operating or willingness to learn cherry pickers and other warehouse equipment.
• Basic familiarity with inventory systems, scanners, or warehouse software (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, pick lists, and BOMs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic math skills (counting and verifying quantities).
• Understanding of workplace safety standards.
• Forklift/cherry picker certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Reliable and dependable with strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• The Kitting Technician is responsible for accurately picking, assembling, and preparing kits of parts and materials required for production.
• Pick parts and materials from inventory using work orders, pick lists, or BOMs.
• Assemble kits with the correct parts and quantities according to specifications.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and quality before completing kits.
• Operate material handling equipment, including cherry pickers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
• Safely use hand tools and power tools (e.g., drills, screwdrivers) as needed.
• Label, package, and stage completed kits for production or shipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory and report shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S standards).
• Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.
• Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.
