Job summary

Greenworks is seeking a Kitting Supervisor to lead day-to-day reverse logistics and kitting operations in Morganton, NC. You will oversee Returns, Reconditioning, Kitting/Dekitting, and the Open Box Program, ensuring safety and quality while driving efficiency.

On the floor about 85% of the time, you will coach teams, manage inventory in SAP, assign tasks, and implement improvements. The role requires strong leadership and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle reverse logistics operations: receiving, processing, testing/reworking, kitting/dekitting, labeling, and resale preparation.
• Supervise the Open Box Program, ensuring accurate inspection, grading, and resale preparation at appropriate discounts.
• Manage SAP inventory movements and maintain accurate records across reverse logistics areas.
• Spend ~85% of time on the production floor supporting team members, coaching, and providing real-time feedback.
• Assign daily tasks based on skills and workload across Returns, Reconditioning, Kitting/Dekitting, and Open Box activities.
• Ensure safety standards, including PIT operation guidelines, are followed.
• Use RF guns and scanning tools to optimize tracking, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Conduct quality checks at each reconditioning, testing, and packing stage to maintain product integrity.
• Monitor part inventory levels and productivity metrics, adjusting resources as needed.
• Respond to customer issues with professionalism and resolution-focused communication.
• Support project management with data and documentation as needed.
• Interview to fill openings and support training/onboarding of new hires.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

The Kitting Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day operations across multiple functions within the Kitting department, including Returns, Reconditioning, Kitting/Dekitting, and the Open Box Program. This role ensures all processes run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards for quality, performance, and customer satisfaction. The Supervisor works closely with cross-functional teams and service providers to manage workload, maintain accurate inventory, and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct employees through full-cycle reverse logistics operations: receiving returned products, processing, testing/reworking, kitting/dekitting, labeling, and preparing items for resale or disposition.
• Supervise the Open Box Program, ensuring products are accurately inspected, graded, and prepared for resale at the appropriate discount.
• Manage SAP inventory movements and maintain accurate records for all areas under the reverse logistics umbrella.
• Spend approximately 85% of the time on the production floor, supporting team members, building relationships, providing coaching, and offering real-time performance feedback.
• Assign daily tasks based on individual skills and workload priorities across Returns, Reconditioning, Kitting/Dekitting, and Open Box activities.
• Ensure safety standards are followed, including hazardous materials handling and lift truck operation guidelines.
• Utilize RF guns and scanning tools to optimize tracking, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Conduct quality checks at each stage of reconditioning, testing, and packing to maintain product integrity.
• Monitor part inventory levels and productivity metrics, adjusting resources as needed.
• Respond to customer complaints or issues involving reconditioned and returned products with professionalism and resolution-focused communication.
• Participate in project management by supplying data and supporting documentation as needed.
• Hold team members accountable for meeting performance and attendance expectations.
• Conduct interviews to fill open positions and support training and onboarding of new team members.

Key Responsibilities Cont.

• Maintain clear communication with Human Resources on projected openings, employee challenges, or policy violations.
• Operating and Training of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) equipment (Forklift, Pallet Jacks, and other PIT)
• Perform other duties as needed.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in reverse logistics, reconditioning, or kitting/dekitting preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude with experience managing processes and troubleshooting issues.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Effective leader with a hands-on, team-oriented mindset.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to proactively identify challenges and implement solutions.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operation and safety procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with minimal supervision.
• Collaborative contributor in cross-functional teams.

Required Education

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
