Position Overview
The Kitchen Utility Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and smooth operation of the kitchen at Mission Hills Country Club. This position supports the culinary team by maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, assisting with dishwashing, and handling food preparation support tasks as needed.
Schedule
9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday, Thursday and Sunday
5:00 pm - 11:00 pm Tuesdays
Key Responsibilities
Dishwashing & Cleaning
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans following health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, floors, walls, and storage areas.
- Remove trash and recyclables regularly and ensure proper disposal procedures.
Food Preparation Support
- Assist in receiving, stocking, and organizing food and kitchen supplies.
- Support food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Keep dishwashing area and other kitchen stations neat and organized.
- Work collaboratively with chefs, line cooks, and service staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Other Duties as Assigned
In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined in this position description, employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor. These duties will be within the scope of the employee’s position and will align with the needs of the Club. The assignment of additional tasks ensures operational efficiency and supports the overall goals of the department. Employees are expected to be flexible and adaptable in fulfilling these responsibilities as directed.
Education & Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or hospitality setting preferred but not required.
Competencies
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on event schedule.
- Ability to stand for long periods, as well as, bending, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
