Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Kitchen Utilities/Dishwasher to support the culinary team by keeping a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining area. You will wash dishes, stock supplies, and help with basic food prep as directed, contributing to a positive team environment.

The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 pounds. A background check and food safety certification within 30 days are preferred.

Qualifications

• Past dishwashing experience in a kitchen preferred.
• Must pass a background check.
• Food safety handler certification or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
• High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics (food safety) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining room.
• Wash utensils, equipment and dishes using a dishwasher or by hand.
• Put away clean dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Sweep and wash floors.
• Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the Head Chef and/or Sous Chef.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
• Communicate regularly with management via calls, emails, and texts.
