Job description

Upon being hired for this position, you will enter a Probationary status, working up to 40 hours per week.
Upon completion of the probationary period, you could become benefit eligible.

Essential Duties:

1. Must be available to work all schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
2. Process china, glass, eating, and cooking utensils through a large dishwashing machine.
3. Wash china, glass, eating, and cooking utensils by hand as appropriate.
4. Understand and follow instructions.
5. Follow a strict sanitation policy.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
7. Maintain the expectations listed below.
8. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
   • Ability to lift, handle, and transport up to 100 pounds as necessary.
   • Carrying heavy objects up and down stairs.
   • Bending, stooping, lifting.
   • Working while standing for long periods.
   • Working at a fast pace for several hours.
   • Working at heights over 6 feet.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen using industrial dishwashing equipment.
• Experience performing heavy cleaning, preferably in a commercial kitchen setting.

Required:

• Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County Food Handlers Card. Applicants with an active Food Handlers Card should be prepared to present it during the interview.
