Job summary

St. Ann’s Community is hiring a Kitchen Utility Assistant for the Portland campus in Rochester, NY. The role focuses on dishwashing operations, sanitation and proper storage of china, glassware and equipment, with shifts including 11am–7pm, 7am–3pm, and part-time options.

Responsibilities

• Rinses, scrapes, racks, and washes all china, glassware and flatware for all services.
• Operates and monitors the dishwashing machine, ensuring proper temperatures and chemical handling for sanitation.
• Rinses, scrapes, soaks and washes pots, pans, trays, etc., following correct procedures and sanitization.
• Cleans and sanitizes all areas of the department.
• Keeps knowledge of operation and cleaning of equipment up to date.
• Reports equipment malfunctions.
• Monitors chemical inventory and notes when purchases are needed; observes dish machine temperatures and reports any temperature deviations.

Job Description:

• Rinses, scrapes, racks, and washes all china, glassware and flatware for all services.
• Is responsible for the correct set-up and operation of the dishwashing machine, and the monitoring of temperatures, and chemicals, ensuring that all items are sanitized and stored safely.
• Rinses, scrapes, soaks and washes all pots, pans, trays, etc., utilizing the correct procedures ensuring that all items are sanitized and stored safely.
• Responsible for cleaning & sanitizing all areas of the department
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation and cleaning of small and large equipment.
• Responsible for reporting equipment malfunctions.
• Responsible for reporting on chemical inventory and when more is needed to be purchased
• Responsible for monitoring dish machine temperatures and reporting when proper temperature levels are not maintained

Candidate Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Minimum 6 months related experience preferred
