Job summary

LV Petroleum is hiring for Miss J's Smokehouse inside our travel center to fill cook and cashier roles. The team works in a fast-paced setting, focusing on food preparation, safety, and customer service. Candidates should be adaptable, reliable, and able to follow kitchen procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain focused under pressure.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Willingness to learn and follow kitchen protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring ingredients.
• Cooking and Cooking Assistance: Cook or assist in cooking dishes according to diner menu specifications and monitor temps.
• Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and follow health and sanitation guidelines.
• Inventory Management: Restock kitchen supplies and monitor inventory, rotating stock (FIFO).
• Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely orders and training of new staff when needed.
• Adherence to Procedures: Follow cooking procedures, portion sizes, and presentation standards; manage allergens and dietary restrictions.
